英単語 noise (ノイズ) は単数形と複数形のどちらを使うのでしょうか？
一般の辞書で調べると、不可算名詞 [具体的には 可算名詞] と書かれていますが、ロングマン現代英英辞典では、技術英語においては「不可算名詞・uncountable」で扱うことが以下のように明記されています。
・[uncountable] technical unwanted signals produced by an electrical circuit
[不可算名詞] 電気回路で発生する不要な信号
・[uncountable] technical pieces of unwanted information that can prevent a computer
[不可算名詞]コンピュータを妨害する可能性のある望ましくない情報
【例文】
Averaging reduces random noise and makes it easier to see detail in a signal.
（平均化するとランダムノイズが減少するので、信号の細部が見えやすくなります。）
なお、たくさんのノイズと書きたい場合は、"a lot of noise"になります。"a lot of noises"ではありません。
【例文】
A lot of noise was observed when I removed the 100 pF ceramic capacitor from the circuit board.
(回路基板から 100 pF のコンデンサを外したので、多くのノイズが見られた。 )
